Description: OLF School visits Don Bosco Ashalayam to tie Rakhi to the orphan boys. Our Lady of Fatima Convent Secondary School, Gurugram visited Don Bosco Ashalayam, Dwarka on 8th August 2022 to tie rakhi to the orphan boys. 17 girl students of Class VI were selected to tie rakhi to the boys as a gesture of expressing the unique bond of brothers and sisters relationship. Sr. Celsa, the Principal of the school led the children to the Ashalayam with the aim of making students to understand the vacuum created by the absence of parents in the life of children. Most of the children in the Ashayalam are from different parts of Delhi and have found shelter in Ashayalam which caters to their education and boarding too. The Director of Ashayalam, Fr. Edward was very impressed by the contribution made by the school and applauded the effort of the School Management to take the initiative to spread awareness among children about selfless giving. The girls tied Rakhi to all those boys who were present in Ashayalam and gave them a packet of stationary as well as a packet of snacks. Boys of the Ashayalam sang a welcome song as well as a thanksgiving song for the students which were very much appreciated. Class VII students of the school had collected different daily use items to be given to the poor. One of the parents of Class VI had volunteered to sponsor snacks for all the orphan students. OLF students expressed their gratitude towards Sr. Celsa for giving them an opportunity to have a unique experience of sharing and learning about the tough life of those children who have no parents. Ms. Charu, the Art, and Craft teacher coordinated the rakhi making and arrangement of gift hampers for the orphan children.
